NFL Scouting Combine 2017: Florida LB Jarrad Davis to skip drills while ankle heals

Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis will sit out the drills portion of next month’s NFL Scouting Combine, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.

Davis, considered one of the top linebackers in this year’s NFL Draft, is still recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out of the final three games of the Gators’ Cheap Jerseys US 2016 season. Rapoport reported Davis will meet with NFL teams at the Combine but is expected to do a full workout — including the 40-yard dash — at Florida’s Pro Day.

Davis had 60 tackles, including six for losses, and two sacks in nine games last season. He was one of the five finalists for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s most outstanding linebacker.

We got a ballgame. The Patriots immediately made the Falcons pay for their turnover and scored on a six-yard Tom Brady pass to Danny Amendola on the fifth play of a drive that started on the Falcons’ 25-yard line. James White’s rush for the two-point conversion crossed the goal line, and New England made it a one-score game with 5:56 to play. 28-20, Falcons.

The complete list of Scouting Combine participants has not been released.

“Often, it’s a quick meet-and-greet and then — boom — they dive right into the player’s past,” Savage said. “The challenge for the prospect being interviewed is that he’s got to be totally honest because often, particularly with the seniors, the clubs already know the answers to those questions. They want to find out if that player is telling the truth because if he’ll lie in their first exposure to them in a 15-minute interview, then he’s going to lie to them when he’s part of their team.
